Your legacy begins the moment you decide forever is the only option.
For me, that moment occurred as I rode shotgun in a Boston boy's Jeep Wrangler with the top down, wind whipping through my long blonde hair. Eight years of age and several states separated us, yet it felt like I had known him my entire life.
As we prayed together at 2 a.m. in a musty dorm room in Mississippi, the North and South united. I knew one day I'd sashay down an aisle to marry him. And that's exactly what happened a mere 13 months later at a quaint Acadian village in South Louisiana.
Now our legacy lives on as we raise our five children. When the days get long and I need a reminder, I reach for our wedding album and remember why I said, “I do.”
